Carefully planned and executed test instrumentation migration and modernization can increase test-system efficiency, performance and lifetime, while also providing meaningful cost savings, improved reliability/supportability, and improved quality of test. This webcast will explore 3 migration scenarios based on recent real-world experiences of some of Agilent’s customers in the Defense industry. The key attributes and risk considerations of the different approaches to maintain, upgrade or modernize existing test equipment will be explored. Recent new developments in highly flexible and backwards-compatible signal analysis equipment (Agilent X-series signal analyzers and specifically the N9030A PXA), as well as software command “translation” approaches will be addressed in the course of the discussion.

Phil is a veteran of RF and Microwave T&M industry, with over 20 years’ experience in RF/uW component test, test systems and most recently spectrum and signal analyzers in emerging wireless communications and aerospace/defense applications. As a Business Development Manager at Agilent’s Microwave and Communications Division, he is responsible for high performance signal analysis migration programs, tools and related processes. Phil has a BSEE from Stanford University and is presently pursuing an eMBA focused on global business.
