Quick start your embedded software development with Linux and VxWorks for Virtex-5 FPGAs
In an earlier Webinar, we showed you how Virtex®-5 FXT FPGAs, with their embedded PowerPC™440 processors can help you achieve breakthrough system performance . We also described how you can rapidly build flexible processing systems using the award-winning Platform Studio tools.
Since software development takes up a significant portion of the overall embedded system design, you need robust software platforms (OSes, Middleware) to build your applications, which is the topic of our next Webniar.
In this joint Wind River-Xilinx Webinar, we give you an overview of various embedded software platforms available for developing systems with Virtex-5 FXT FPGAs, including a full fledged Embedded OS like Linux and real time OSes like VxWorks. We'll take a look at their ease of use and secure real-time responsiveness. We'll demonstrate how you can quickly build a Linux or VxWorks kernel image using automatic BSP generation tools, and we will show off complete development kits that deliver hands-on experience with these solutions to get you started quickly.
Web seminar attendees will learn:
- Advantages of using highly flexible software and hardware platforms – Linux and Virtex-5 FXT FPGAs
- Simple steps to build custom Linux or VxWorks kernel and software applications in minutes using automatic BSP generation tools
- How to gain hands-on experience with these solutions using complete development kits
Who should attend:
- Embedded Software developers
- System architects
- SoC, ASSP, Microcontroller users
- Engineering or Technical managers
