Many LTE processes and procedures share much in common with the existing UMTS technology. However there are many significant implementation and detailed changes which result in both increased complexity and protocol/signaling test needs. This webcast will introduce the various LTE signaling/control processes and their detailed content. Procedures such as resource allocation (scheduling), power control, CQI, HARQ and other LTE protocol processes and functions will be examined in detail and compared to their UMTS equivalent processes. We will make sure we have plenty of time for questions.

Sandy is a 25 year veteran of the RF and microwave industry with expertise spanning DC to 100GHz applied to such diverse technologies as space and military products and Infra-red. Sandy's career includes over 15 years experience with a cellular radio focus.

During the last 9 years with Agilent Technologies, Sandy has focused on One Box Cellular Manufacturing Test instruments, including the popular 8922 and the E5515B/C. Today, he is the product manager for GSM/(E)GPRS R&D Test Solutions and a leader in LTE technology awareness and training, specialising in LTE protocol and signalling. Sandy's a well published author and his papers and presentations have been appreciated by thousands worldwide. Sandy holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow University.
