The TV industry has already gone through two major waves of change. The first being the move from black & white to color, the second from standard to high-definition. Some analysts are now speculating that the 3rd wave will be from high definition to 3D.

The latest HDMI 1.4 standard provides the critical infrastructure for implementing 3D video in the home by defining data rates and protocols that will allow 3D displays and source devices to communicate through an HDMI link. With support for resolutions up to 1080p in high-definition, HDMI 1.4 is key to bringing true 3D gaming and home theater to the mass market.
