In this joint webinar, experts from Anritsu, Teledyne LeCroy and Coherent Solutions will cover the latest advances and challenges in PAM4 and DP-16QAM signal generation, compensation and analysis.

Anritsu will demonstrate how to generate PAM4 signals for use as either I & Q tributaries for coherent optical or for differential electrical transmission, as well as how to make accurate PAM4 BER measurement by leveraging the MP1800A Signal Quality Analyzer. Using these signals, Teledyne LeCroy and Coherent Solutions will demonstrate how an OMA (Optical Modulation Analyzer) can be used to assist engineers in their efforts to correct and compensate for hardware characteristics that negatively impact signal quality, resulting in potentially impaired trajectories and constellations and consequentially affect BER, EVM and other coherent optical measurements. We will show how adjusting the PAM4 tributary skew and IQ transmitter modulator response affects the optical modulation analysis and how engineers can use the OMA to diagnose the effects of such changes in both a quantitative and qualitative manner. The Teledyne LeCroy and Coherent Solutions OMA combines a LabMaster 10 Zi Real-time DSO and IQScope-RT Coherent Optical Receiver.
