Overview:
In the new age of fiber connectivity,
performance is about much more than just cabling. Ensuring optimal performance
and maximizing uptime for data centers and networks is increasingly about making
smart connectivity choices. This webinar will introduce engineers to the broad
range of end-to-end options for fiber connectivity, which enables top-flight
performance, reduced cost and bill of materials, and provable reliability. Our
panel of industry experts with introduce and explain the utility of passive and
active fiber optic components and modules, advanced optical cable assemblies,
connectors and adaptors. We’ll survey a range of industries and applications
with a focus on enterprise networking, data centers, and industrial
automation.

What you’ll learn from this webinar:

  • Connectivity options for data center, networking and industrial applications
that reduce cost, minimize risk of signal loss, and boost reliability
  • Critical factors in designing and selecting fiber optics connectivity
solutions, including materials, footprint, signal speed and integrity.
  • The latest connectivity innovations for the electrical-optical interface.

Schweber

Bill Schweber is an electronics engineer who has written three
textbooks on electronic communications systems, as well as hundreds of technical
articles, opinion columns, and product features. In past roles, he worked as a
technical web-site manager for multiple topic-specific sites for EE Times, as
well as both the Executive Editor and Analog Editor at EDN. At Analog Devices,
Inc. (a leading vendor of analog and mixed-signal ICs), Bill was in marketing
communications (public relations); as a result, he has been on both sides of the
technical PR function, presenting company products, stories, and messages to the

Presenter:
Martin
Rowe, Editor-in-Chief, The Connecting Edge

Martin Rowe served as
technical editor and senior technical editor at Test & Measurement World for
20 years including three years as EDN Design Ideas editor. During that time,
Martin covered a wide range of technologies and companies. Technologies included
bench instruments such as oscilloscopes, meters, signal sources and their
applications. His favorite applications for these instruments were high-speed
signal measurements, basic measurements (voltage, current, power), calibration,
and EMC/EMI/RFI. All of these apply directly to connectors and connectivity.
From 2004 to 2012, Martin visited numerous companies to learn how engineers
performed test. Visits included Bose, DeWalt, and even Tyco Electronics (now TE
Connectivity).
