Overview:
In this 45-minute webinar, you will get
insights into hidden technical trade-offs and costs associated with current
interfaces between image sensors, FPGAs and host processors in your imaging,
machine vision or data acquisition system. You will then learn about an industry
solution that has emerged to address these challenges: USB 3.0 SuperSpeed.

What the registrant will learn by attending:

  • Common interfaces used in Imaging, Machine Vision and Data Acquisition
    Systems
  • Technical trade-offs with these interfaces and the problems they cause: data
compression and decompression issues, needs for extra glue logic, wasted
    processing power
  • The USB 3.0 SuperSpeed solution to these challenges
  • Trade-offs between various USB 3.0 SuperSpeed solutions (FPGA + PHY, FGPA +
    Peripheral Controller, etc.)

Presenters:
Allan
Dubeau, Principal Hardware/FPGA Design Engineer, Nuvation Research
Corp.

Allan has nearly 25 years of FPGA and HW design experience.
During this time, he has also developed dozens of FPGA design and tool flow
training programs for many Fortune 1000 companies. In this role, Allan estimates
he has trained over 4000 engineers either directly or indirectly. His hands on
approach to training over the years have served him well, as he is consistently
ranked as one of the highest-rated trainers/speakers at the events in which he
participates. His background is well-rounded, and he is equally comfortable
training on VHDL, Verilog, System C, or Verisity, to name a few. Nuvation
considers itself lucky to have Allan on our staff.
