Andy Gryc has been a software developer and designer for over 20 years. He&s worked at companies large and small with a diverse range of responsibilities in embedded software development and consulting. His accomplishments include: Designer of the HP100LX/HP200LX palmtop database and GUI, and the HP Omnibook Notebook BIOS; and the lead embedded software architect at OnStar. Andy has held the position of World-wide Automotive Field Application Engineer and currently works as Product Marketing Manager, both at QNX Software Systems.

Steve West, Director, Emerging Technology and Media
Steve West is a Director within Alcatel-Lucent’s Emerging Technology and Media Group, located in Ottawa, Canada. Mr. West has a lengthy resume spanning both technology and digital media with experience in IPTV and video-centric service development, marketing and strategy. Additionally, Steve is the Alcatel-Lucent lead on numerous external endeavors driving the evolution of digital media, such as the Digital Entertainment Content Eco-system (DECE) and the Entertainment Technology Center. Mr. West recently led activities related to Alcatel-Lucent’s “multi-screen” strategy. He is now driving the creation of a vibrant multi-industry eco-system to foster broad industry adoption of ultra-high bandwidth technologies such as 4G. He continues to be an evangelist for the next evolution of the “any time, anywhere” consumer experience, provided by digital technology and high bandwidth networks – and is a regular speaker on the topic.

Before joining Alcatel-Lucent, Mr. West was director of product management for a vibrant start-up, iMagicTV, that led IPTV into the global market. Prior to iMagicTV, he was responsible for consumer broadband services development and marketing, including the world’s first commercial launch of a consumer mass market IPTV service, at Aliant Telecom, Atlantic Canada’s largest telecom service provider.

Mr. West holds a Diploma in Marketing and International business from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology.
