David has over 20 years of sales,
marketing and publishing experience in the technology sector working for
companies as diverse as IBM Europe, Motorola, Mars Electronics, CMP and now
United Business Media. David built his early career selling new technology into
emerging applications. After moving into technology publishing in 1994, David
sold some of the earliest versions of internet ads on the EETimes.com website
and led the CMP Electronics Group web sales initiatives. David was named
Publisher of Embedded Systems Design magazine in late 2005 and now manages UBM

Holland, Senior Editor, UBM Electronics

Colin Holland is a senior editor
for UBM Electronics—he has been writing about and excited by developments in
electronics and technology since 1977. He currently is Content Director of ESD
and Embedded.com, the DESIGN West and East conferences—which include the
Embedded Systems Conference—and the ARM TechCon conference.

previously edited the Microcontroller Designline and Test & Measurement
Designline has also contributed Fundamentals courses and virtual conferences.

From its launch in 2006 till June 2010 he edited EE Times Europe for
both print and online and from 2002 to 2010 he also edited Embedded System
Design Europe and in 2010 co-chaired the Embedded Live conference in London.

He has worked on a number of different projects including writing the
section on the on Electronics industry for Business—The Ultimate Resource
(Bloomsbury/Perseus Publishing) and editing technical research papers for
Elsevier Engineering News.

Previously an editor with Embedded Systems
Engineering in the UK and managing editor of EuroElectroncisweb and
Globalcommsweb for VerticalNet, Holland spent nearly 20 years until 2000 at CMP
Electronics in the UK including spells as an editor on Electronics Times (weekly
newspaper), Electronic Engineering (monthly technical magazine) and Whats new in
Electronics (product-information based publication). After completing a degree
in Physical Science in 1977, Holland started in journalism as an editor on
Electronics Technology—the journal of the Society of Electronics and Radio
Technicians which was followed by a stint on a weekly new paper—The Accountant.
