Transaction-level modeling is a relatively new and exciting verification methodology that provides many productivity and performance benefits such as reuse of system-level testbenches over many phases of a project. Accellera has released the Standard Co-Emulation Modeling Interface (SCE-MI) specification facilitating portability and reuse of transactors in compliant hardware-assisted environments. This paper describes techniques for creating SCE-MI compatible transactors that can be retargeted from co-simulation to a co-emulation environment for higher performance.
