In today’s cost cutting healthcare environment, medical device developers can combine modalities onto one platform and capture the advantages of shard resources using virtualization. A virtualized system with two or more of the same OS or different OSes can make it easier to integrate and partition the software and significantly lower system costs. In fact, the technology can be an important tool for medical device developers concerned about compliance, quality and cost. This paper provides five examples of how virtualization satisfies these objectives while significantly reducing product development effort.
