A numerical study was conducted to determine and validate the thermal performance of an electronics navigation unit operating at’high altitude. An initial design concept was investigated. An approach of the proper estimating of an external heat transfer coefficient on the unit was discussed and implemented. Numerical modeling of heat exchangers was also discussed. Comparison between experimental and numerical simulations showed good agreement.
