Servicing Hardware Interrupts in C++
This paper explains how to service hardware interrupts in C++. All things being equal, it’s generally better to write in Standard C++ than in some platform-specific C++ dialect. However, servicing hardware interrupts is a very platform-specific activity, so much so that it’s essentially impossible in Standard C++. You can’t do the entire job without relying on some platform-specific language extensions or small doses of assembly language.
