One option for developing rad-tolerant FPGAs is to automatically add mitigation circuitry during RTL synthesis, thereby addressing radiation protection through the tool flow. Mentor Graphics Precision Rad-Tolerant is among the relatively new tools with this capability, which can help to ease cost burdens for design teams and expand device options.
