This paper provides an excellent overview of new innovative approaches to efficient power supply design. The intent is to get engineers thinking about what is possible with new interleaved power factor correction "PFC" technologies. The paper begins with brief comments on the evolution of power supply design. Then it gets technical with a review of the functionality and actual measured performance of the evaluation board. It looks to expand the reader’s technical horizons when it reviews some unique and thought provoking ideas to address other power applications. It closes with some valuable comments that will make the time spent in the lab more valuable.
