This chapter provides an overview of the entire Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) development process. Starting from feasibility, it breaks the process down into a set of project phases that must be carried out to obtain fully validated silicon that can be used by production. The main activities in each phase are described, as are the roles and responsibilities of the different members of the project team during these phases.
