This paper describes the military and industry standards and regulations which govern the handling of SigNature DNA for electronics, an authentication taggant for logistical systems.  Special attention must be given to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) requirements, in connection with the Agency requirement for use of the taggants on a category of electronic components. An understanding of the standards and regulations which apply, and those which do not, is crucially important, since handling of the taggant by manufacturers and suppliers must support effectiveness in the DLA supply chains, while remaining commercially viable for suppliers.
