Improving Memory Reliability, Power and Performance Using Mixed-Cell Designs
Many enterprise and mobile systems attempt to maximize energy-efficient performance, dynamically trading off performance and power to have the best performance while keeping power within specified limits. Cache and memory system behavior plays a large role in this tradeoff, since power optimizations may jeopardize memory cell reliability. This paper shows that mixed-cell memory designs could play a key role in achieving the right balance between performance, power, and reliability for single-core and multi-core systems.
