How to Extend EDGE Debugger with Host-based Scripting
This white paper will focus on Codelets (the host-based C scripting language supported in Mentor Embedded EDGE Debugger), its use cases, and advanced integration. Many embedded debuggers support integration with host-based scripting languages to automate repetitive tasks and access target memory. Python, Perl, and TCL are common examples of scripting languages, but each of these languages requires a learning curve to fully reap the rewards of automation. The C programming language is used extensively in embedded development and may be the preferred host-based scripting language to minimize any learning curve.
