The rapidly decreasing implementation cycles due to pressure to market is driving many digital camera OEMs to evaluate the benefits of using the web to extend their enterprise systems and services. This paper evaluates the user requirements and implementation issues in the deployment of enterprise connectivity of a web-enabled digital camera. These include an architectural design approach for services such as device management, connectivity, security, personalization, collaboration, transaction, and so on. The evaluation can help embedded systems architects to design or connect a digital camera to the enterprise systems.
