This paper discusses system-on-a-chip (SoC) Communication products, which have many advantages over traditional, separate component integrated circuit (IC) products. The separate IC product generally includes components that are connected to each other on a printed circuit board (PCB). Alternatively, an SOC product is designed such that an entire system can be implemented or embedded on a single chip, thereby producing a product that is smaller, faster, and more efficient than the separate IC product. SOC products are therefore becoming ever more popular and are widely used in many communication systems applications, such as Internet gadgets.
