Characterization of Multiple Interference Impairing CATV Networks' Return Path Transmission
Since reliable communications must be established on a shared medium, the upstream path quality of a cable television (CATV) network is a critical issue. Indeed, there are many factors that make cable system performance in the upstream direction lower than that of downstream performance. This paper addresses multiple interference measurement, defined as a mix of ingress noise and intermodulation distortion products, as it relates to a cable television network’s return path.
