Augmented Reality on Mobile
Internet Devices Based on Intel ATOM Technology Many of the latest mobile devices contain cameras, as well as location, orientation, and motion sensors. This article demonstrates how mobile Internet devices, based on the Intel Atom processor, can access and provide information to users in a different manner than traditional web-based information sources. Intel’s system uses a combination of camera, and location and orientation sensors, to augment live camera views on a device with available information about the objects in the view. The software is optimized to take advantage of the Intel Atom processor. Results of a detailed performance analysis are presented.
