Microsoft offers software products for different market segments. As an example, Small Business Server Essentials is designed to support up to 25 users. Larger organizations will use either windows server with active directory federation services or Small Business server with an ADFS service installed. With the exception of SBS 2011 essentials, Microsoft does not recommend that ADFS and Directory synchronization are installed on the same server. This paper provides an introductory overview of many SBS add ons, as well as a discussion of migration decisions.
