When it comes to thermal management, it is important for engineers to carefully consider both the function of their designs and the environment in which that design will operate and how it will be put together. Designs that appear to function on paper may not function in reality due to temperature fluctuations or because of harsh compounds in the environment.

Current thermal management solutions – including heat sinks and thermal grease – are not always ideal. This paper outlines the advantages of silicone-based thermal materials, including Compressibility, Dryness and Sealing properties. Silicone’s malleability and ease of use also allows for it to be automated during installation, helping to decreases costs.
