With smaller form factors, higher integration and faster processors managing a growing list of wearable functions, higher efficiency solutions have never been more critical. Battery life is an important consideration for consumers when comparing wearable products before deciding which to purchase. One of their biggest concerns is how long they can use a device without recharging it. This paper provides an overview of a typical wearable system block design, and discusses how to increase power efficiency to extend the battery life of wearables.
