A Practical Guide to Linux Commands, Editors, and Shell Programming: Using the Linux Standard Base Sample Implementation
The Linux Standard Base Sample Implementation (LSB-si) is a runtime environment used for testing purposes. The main purpose of the LSB-si is to provide three things: an example implementation to demonstrate the LSB Written Specification, an example of building LSB-conformant open source packaging without special patching, and a test environment for reworking LSB-conformant applications. This paper provides steps for the setup and use of the LSB-si in three different modes: the chroot LSB-si, the UML LSB-si, and the bootable Knoppix LSB-si.
