Micron launches high-quality image CMOS sensors

Developed to bring high resolution and high-quality imaging into mainstream digital still camera and camera phone markets, Micron Technology, Inc. has unveiled its new 3.1-megapixel and 5-megapixel complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensors aimed at these two markets. Said to rival the image quality of CCD sensors currently used in point-and-shoot digital still cameras (DSCs), these new CMOS image sensors feature the company’s proprietary low-noise, high-sensitivity DigitalClarity technology that touts high-quality imaging.
