LED controller cuts complexity

Sunnyvale, Calif. – Supertex touts its patent-pending hysteretic current-mode control in the company’s HV9930 buck-boost LED driver IC as central to fast transient response without the need for complex loop compensation and external components. Working from an 8-200 volt input, this variable-frequency PWM chip, which controls the LED’s driver stage, is suited to automotives, AC/DC low-voltage applications, and general RGB backlighting.
