FPGA-based PMC card processes high-speed sensor data

A new rugged FPGA PMC card from Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing has been designed to simplify and speed the capture, processing and data output from high-speed sensors in electrooptical/infrared (EO/IR) and radar systems. Dubbed ProWare PMC-440, the PMC card features an on-board FPGA that delivers up to 20 billions operations-per-second performance for fast Fourier transform (FFT) and digital filter DSP functions. It can be used as a front-end sensor I/O interface and a DSP processing mezzanine module for use in VMEbus and CompactPCI embedded systems.
