4-MHz quartz crystal claims smallest size

Kyocera Kinseki, a subsidiary of Kyocera Corp., said it has developed the industry’s first miniature, and smallest, 4-MHz quartz crystal. The CX3225SB low-frequency quartz crystal, at one twenty-seventh the size of conventional units, provides stable frequency sources for applications that require compact size and power savings such as portable DVDs, handheld game players, PDAs and cellular handsets.
