Energy management, in all its stages, is an increasingly vital topic, and it requires application-specific, highly integrated, cost and power-efficient components to make it possible.

This Fundamentals course will focus on key aspects of the energy and the power chain: distribution, consumption, and communications. It will cover critical topics including isolation, data integrity and security, standards, and other system-level issues relevant to the energy-management opportunity. It will also look at some of the critical functions that must be provided at each of these stages, some of the options for implementing them, and areas where designers must understand the constraints and consequent tradeoffs.
