High Power Conversion yield while palayig with I & V

I am totally new in power management area but I would like to know how we can keep the same output power while playing with current or voltage output levels. For example for a 10W power , what is the best power management solution in term of yield to be able to have voltage between 10 & 20V and current between 1A and 500mA.

elaborate your needs for better understanding of your problem.i have just understood that you want varriable power supply 1-20v and 10A -500mA.is it true? that means 1v*10A=20v*500mA=constant power?
