As an ARM Approved Design Center for both hardware and software, Tata Elxsi combines domain knowledge and embedded product development expertise with ARM processors, tools and development techniques to assist silicon vendors and OEMs with system-on-chip (SoC) design and software development and porting.

Some of the reference designs Tata Elxsi has developed for the ARM architecture include portable media players, hybrid/Internet Protocol (IP) set-top boxes and IP video phones, which are explored in this article. The article also discusses the role in the industry of the Digital Living Network Alliance.
