Overview:
When it comes to gaming platforms it would seem that between Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft the market is pretty much sewn up. And it may well be. But that still doesn't stop startups from combining ingenuity with boldness in an effort to edge their way into this multi-billion-dollar business.
A case in point is Tiger Telematics which last year brought out the Gizmondo handheld game platform that took the established genre in a new direction. With GPS, GPRS and Bluetooth interfaces combined with audio and video, Tiger clearly looked to differentiate itself through connectivity and multimedia capability. A bold move for a handheld gaming platform at that time.
While the Gizmondo eventually failed to gain traction and Tiger Telematics is no more, view this On-Demand seminar to explore what a bit of ingenuity can achieve. It's clear that it was market forces and positioning and not technical prowess that held the Gizmondo back.
Use the seminar to see:
- A full breakdown of the board's ICs and other components.
- The full range of connectivity and multimedia options that can be put on a small handheld.
- Why it takes more than technical prowess to help a design succeed.
- And much more!
Who should attend:
Designers of handheld devices including gaming platforms and mobile handsets looking for ideas on what connectivity options are open to them and how they can be implemented best.
