| Power Saving Technologies in the World's First 65nm FPGA |
|
Overview:
Reducing power consumption lowers system cost, increases reliability, and enables higher clock rates. Virtex™ FPGAs combine the most advanced semiconductor technology and architectural innovations to deliver new levels of performance with a significant reduction in power consumption. These advances enable designers to meet performance targets easily while also beating their power budget. ExpressFabric™ technology implemented in 65nm silicon enables Virtex-5 FPGAs to achieve 30% higher performance with 35% lower dynamic power consumption than previous-generation devices. Triple-oxide technology, along with other enhancements, keeps static power consumption on par with that of 90nm Virtex-4 FPGAs.
In this webcast we discuss these power-saving technologies and present benchmark data demonstrating power reduction in various designs.
Webcast attendees will learn about the:
- Tools for estimating and optimizing FPGA power consumption
- Power reduction benefits and challenges presented by migration to 65nm node
- Key power-saving technologies implemented in 65nm Virtex-5 FPGAs
- Results from hardware benchmark evaluations
Who should attend:
- ASIC and FPGA engineers
- Designers of complex, high-performance systems
- System architects
- Engineering or technical managers
