Developing an integrated HMI with independent processes using OpenKode
Overview:
Creating a modern HMI involves integrating a number of different pieces of software - each typically running in a separate process with dedicated screen real estate. Developing a seamless HMI becomes an obvious challenge.

Andy Gryc has been a software developer and designer for over 20 years. He's worked at companies large and small with a diverse range of responsibilities in embedded software development and consulting. His accomplishments include: Designer of the HP100LX/HP200LX palmtop database and GUI, and the HP Omnibook Notebook BIOS; and the lead embedded software architect at OnStar. Andy has held the position of World-wide Automotive Field Application Engineer and currently works as Product Marketing Manager, both at QNX Software Systems.

Paul Streatch, Manager, Middleware Applications, QNX Software Systems
Paul Streatch is the manager of the QNX middleware graphics and application teams where he guides the designers involved in the QNX port and support of Adobe Flash Lite 3. Prior to joining QNX Software Systems, Paul spent over 20 years honing his skills in software design, architecture, and development management (particularly in embedded video recording and vector-based graphics) at various companies such as March Networks and Corel. Paul holds a Master of Computer Science degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (now part of Dalhousie University).
