Achieving new levels of performance and reduced power consumption in MCU designs with ARM Cortex-M processors
Overview:
The ARM® Cortex™-M processor family offers the lowest power consumption of the ARM Cortex processor product range while boasting high performance numbers. This combination enables designers to utilize the inherent values of a 32 bit architecture at the cost of an 8-bit design. MCU and gate-count sensitive mixed-signal markets will benefit from the lowest system cost provided by the unique combination of ultra-low gate count, small code footprint and advanced libraries.

Low-power operation of the Cortex-M processor family is further enhanced by implementation on TSMC 180ULL embedded Flash process, using ARM Ultra High Density Standard Cell Libraries, Power Management Kit (PMK), and Low-Power memory instances specially tuned for ARM processors, delivered in best-in-class EDA packages. The ARM Cortex-M processors continue to set new standards in ultra-low power MCU designs.

During this seminar we will review:
  • The ARM Cortex-M processor architecture and inherent benefits
  • The advantages of utilizing ARM integrated Physical IP for best-in-class CPU implementation
  • The design consideration and challenges in designing 32-bit MCUs

  • Leveraging the unrivalled expertise from ARM, as the leader in low-power technology and enabling the creation of ultra low-power devices this seminar will provide both designers and users of MCUs and SoCs a proven solution for successfully migrating to a 32-bit MCU architecture.

    Duration:
    55 minutes, w/ Q&A following

    Technical Experience:
General familiarity with MCU and/or processor design
