Realizing the Full Potential of the Intel® Atom™ Processor in Embedded Devices
Overview:
The Intel® AtomTM processor Z5xx series delivers the benefits of Intel® architecture for small form factor, thermally constrained and fanless embedded applications. Ideal for applications requiring low power, graphics and multi-media intensive applications it is well suited for today's portable devices.

The integration of software and hardware play a key role in enabling developers to fully realize the potential of the Intel Atom processors. Rich graphical capabilities, multi-media acceleration and human machine interface technology combined with instant device activation are all instrumental in ensuring a rich user experience.

In this webinar, the participants will learn about the features and benefits of the Intel Atom processor with a focus on its applications for the embedded market. Following this, the integration of the Intel Atom with the QNX Aviage Multimedia Suite and QNX Aviage HMI Suite will be explored. Finally, Fastboot, an instant-on capability developed for the Intel Atom by QNX Software Systems will be presented.

Presenters:

Hans Johnsen has over 18 years of experience in the software industry. Currently, he is a product manager at QNX Software Systems, where he is responsible for various aspects of the company's product line, including the QNX Aviage Multimedia Suite. Prior to joining QNX, he held positions of increasing responsibility in product management and product development at Tropic Networks and Crosskeys Systems. Mr. Johnsen holds a Master's of Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick.


Kaitlin Murphy has over 9 years of experience in the high tech and automotive industries. Currently a Platform Application Engineer at Intel, she has spent the last year and a half enabling the Intel Atom architecture. She graduated from Kettering University with a BSEE and is currently pursuing her Masters at the University of Chicago.
