| WiMAX Protocol Conformance Test: A Requirement for Certification |

Overview:
The PCT conformance test regime is being led by the WiMAX Forum® and ETSI and is following the ISO 9646 standard. This presentation will describe the overall WiMAX™ certification process with a particular focus on protocol conformance. WiMAX PCT testing uses a TTCN-3 test architecture. The presentation will describe developments in TTCN standardization and the benefits this brings to the PCT solution. Finally the presentation will introduce a PCT system and describe how it can be used throughout the phases of the WiMAX R&D lifecycle.

Mike Lawton, Product Planning Engineer, Agilent Technologies
 Michael Lawton is a Product Planning Engineer for the Mobile Broadband Division within Agilent Technologies' Wireless Business Unit. This Business Unit is part of Agilent's Electronic Measurement Group. The Mobile Broadband Division focuses on providing wireless test solutions for all phases in the product development lifecycle.
Michael began his career with HP/Agilent in 1992. Since then he has worked in a number of R&D and marketing positions. He has been awarded patents for his work in both the wireless networking and fiber optic fields. He has also represented Agilent and served as chair for external groups developing both industry standards and multi-sourcing agreements.
Michael holds both a bachelor's degree (BEng) and a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Bristol, UK.
