Low-Cost to High-Performance Memory Interface Design Made Easy with Xilinx FPGAs
Overview:
As FPGA designers strive to achieve better performance, lower cost and faster time to market, the memory interface is a key element for both low-cost and high-performance systems.

Xilinx offers a portfolio of FPGAs, from the latest low-cost Spartan™-3A to the high-performance Virtex™-5 family, along with easy-to-use software and hardware tools to make designing memory interfaces faster and easier than ever before.

This webcast will address the memory interface design challenges that span the full spectrum of low-cost implementations to high-bandwidth and short-latency memory controllers. Detailed design challenges and solutions are described that show how the latest Xilinx software and hardware verification tools can shorten your design cycle.

In this webcast you will learn:
  • The nature of the challenges inherent to the full spectrum of low-cost and high-performance memory interface design, and how to effectively address them
  • How to build high-bandwidth memory interfaces with the latest DDR2 SDRAMs, and how to further improve data throughput with optimized controller algorithms
  • How to accelerate your design cycle using the latest Xilinx software, reference designs and hardware development tools
Who should attend:
  • ASIC and FPGA engineers
  • System architects
  • Engineering or technical managers
Presenters:

Adrian Cosoroaba, Marketing Manager, Platform Solutions, Xilinx Inc.
Adrian is responsible for marketing activities related to Memory Solutions. He brings to Xilinx over 20 years of semiconductor experience in memory applications and marketing. Prior to joining Xilinx, he held a range of applications engineering and strategic marketing positions at Fujitsu and helped define through JEDEC the DDR SDRAM and SSTL I/O standards. He holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University and a B.S. in Engineering Physics from University of California at Berkeley.

Karthi Palanisamy, Staff Engineer, Xilinx Inc.
Karthi holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Portland State University with an emphasis in hardware design. With Xilinx since 2003, Karthi has developed HDL reference designs, controller algorithms, and verification methods for memory interfaces in his capacity as Staff Engineer in the memory applications group.
