Every real-time embedded system needs to be able to interact with events associated with the external world in a timely manner; for this, typically every digital signal processor (DSP) device features one or more dedicated pins, which are used for carrying these external signals, called interrupts, inside the device for further processing by the application. The TMS320C672x generation of processors has this functionality, although it does not feature any dedicated interrupt lines.

This application report details how to configure the application, using the C672x chip support library, in order to setup the device to process external interrupts by providing two simple example projects: one of them being based on the DSP/BIOS software kernel foundation.
