This Insight Report analyzes the Qualcomm MSM7200 Baseband Applications Processor, which is part of Qualcomm's convergence platform. The MSM7200 chipset supports faster data rates of 7.2Mbps on the downlink and up to 5.76Mbps on the uplink, while operating on the WCDMA/HSUPA and EGPRS networks. Additional connectivity is provided through the Mobile Digital Display Interface (MDDI), Bluetooth v1.2 and WiFi. The MSM7200 has camera support, which provides additional functionality in mobile products, substantiating images up to 6 megapixels and video recording at 30 frames per second in VGA quality.
