It would be simpler for the digital TV industry if there was only one mobile TV standard over one spectrum band, but the reality is that there are a number of standards throughout the world. Such a market poses a big challenge for technology vendors and component providers, requiring a multi-standard, multi-band solution that also has a small form factor, low-cost, low-power, high mobility performance and a high level of integration.

This paper discusses how the Siano SMS1010 multi-standard chip is aimed at solving many of the challenges that these emerging standards and technologies have created.
