Microchip Technology

Power consumption is an important element in designing a system, particularly in today's battery-powered world. The PICmicro family of devices is designed to give the user a low-cost, low-power, and high-performance solution to this problem. For the application to operate at the lowest possible power, the designer must ensure that the PICmicro devices are properly configured. This application note describes some design techniques to lower current consumption, some battery design considerations, and suggestions to assist the designer in resolving power consumption problems.
