LIN (Local Interconnect Network) provides a low-cost bus communication for many networks, including automotive and appliance. This application note presents a LIN 2.0-compliant driver for the PIC16XXX family of microcontrollers. It focuses on the set-up and implementation of the driver for a master and/or a slave node(s). Key additions and modifications of the LIN specification 2.0, the most current specification available to date, are highlighted.
