Avnet

Engineering design firm Lab X Technologies wanted to deploy the Digigram-developed EtherSound audio technology in the United States. Working with the Xilinx Spartan 3 FPGAs, Avnet helped Lab X develop its ESX EtherSound module. Lab X then worked with audio manufacturer Whirlwind to develop an EtherSound version for its E-Snake, which runs digital audio signals from a concert stage to the soundboard and back. The ESX EtherSound module allows Whirlwind to offer EtherSound as an alternative to the CobraNet Ethernet protocol, which the company already uses.
