VoIP has established firm roots in the Enterprise market. And, while it is often the corporate market where the money is made, this isn't necessarily true when it comes to the IP communications device market.

In addition to the traditional form factor VoIP and Video phones being developed, there is a rapidly emerging market for "VoIP-enabling" any connected device, whether it's an MP3 player, set-top box (STB) or a video doorbell. The near ubiquity of IP networks and broadband connectivity in North America, Europe and many parts of Asia-Pacific are making the long talked about connected-home and connected-life a reality.

We are poised for explosive growth in the wired and WiFi device market. This article looks at the key factors that are making this a reality and the considerations for OEMs and ODMs when designing connected devices that support voice and video over IP services.
