Innovations in Capacitive Interfaces
Overview:
The popularity of sleek industrial design has driven a demand for capacitive sensing interfaces (rather than buttons, switches and other mechanical input devices) in everything from blenders to cell phones. Capacitive interfaces can sense a finger, liquid, or other conductive object through the surface of your product. So, how does it really work? What factors influence its performance? This Webinar explores the latest capacitive sensing techniques based on Cypress's popular PSoC(R) architecture. You will be introduced to the easy-to-use PSoC design tools and see how to enable rapid, cost-efficient integration of a capacitive sensing interface into your product.

Presenters:

Ryan Seguine, Product Manager

Ryan Seguine is a product manager and has spent over two years defining PSoC CapSense devices, working on CapSense applications and developing customer support materials for the technology. Ryan received Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Wildlife Science from the University of Washington.

Jon Peterson, Applications Engineer

Jon Peterson is an applications engineer for CapSense solutions, responsible for high volume customer projects and new designs using Cypress's Programmable System on a Chip (PSoC). Since joining Cypress in 2005, Jon has authored a feature article on capacitive sensing technology and has five patents pending. Jon holds a BSEET degree with a focus in embedded systems from Western Washington University.
