Low voltage MOSFET development today is following two distinct trends - high frequency SMD switch MOSFETs that are popular in computing and consumer applications and through hole (mostly TO-220/D2PAK) MOSFETs used in higher power, lower frequency industrial applications. This presentation looks into the design challenges for a typical application in each of these categories.
